PRIVACY POLICY

AIT TR Inc., its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “AIT”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and share your information when you use our website at ait-tr.ca, other websites that are operated by us, apps and services offered by us (collectively, the “Service”).  This Privacy Policy also explains how we use cookies and similar technologies.  By using the Service you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Personal information: Personal Information is information about an identifiable individual.  This includes information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate an individual. We collect personal information when you voluntarily provided it to us through our Service or through other means.  For example, we may collect personal information such as your name, address, email address, telephone number and social insurance number when you create an account, apply for a course, make a purchase, communicate with us, submit a review, register to receive a newsletter or otherwise submit personal information to us with your communication.

  • Health Information: Health Information is information which relates to an individual’s physical or mental health or health care. We only collect Health Information which you voluntary provide. For example, we may collect Health Information where necessary to provide specific health related services or accommodation.

  • Payment Information: When you pay for services or products by us we collect personal information such your name, address, telephone number, email address and credit card details. Payment Information will be collected and processed by our third-party payment processors, such as PayPal or Stripe, pursuant to the terms and conditions of their privacy policies and terms of use. 

  • Technical information which is information including your IP address, browser type, device and system information, unique identifier, the web page you visited before accessing the Service, location information, date and time stamps, crash reports, system activity and other similar information and interactions with the Service.  Some technical information can be personal information, either by itself or when combined with other information.

  • Information Collected Through Cookies and Technological Means: We or our third party service providers may use “cookies” and other technologies to record Technical Information and other information about you or your activity. A “cookie” is a piece of data stored on the computer hard drive or memory containing information about the user. You may modify your browser’s settings so that your browser stops accepting cookies or prompts you before accepting a cookie. If you do not accept cookies, you may still use the Service, but certain areas or features may not function properly.

  • Interest-Based Advertising / Remarketing: We or our third-party advertising providers may also use cookies and other technologies to keep track of your browser so that you will be recognized when you visit other websites where our third-party advertising providers may show you advertisements from us based on your visit to our Service. Some of these advertisements may be customized to particular products and services that you viewed or they may be based on inferences about products and services that you might be interested in. You can opt out of these interest-based advertising campaigns by turning off cookies in your browser, as described above. If you opt-out of interest-based advertising you may still see advertisements from us on other websites. However, they will not be customized based on your browsing history on our Service.

  • information may be shared with our third-party service providers who help us with our business operations. For example, we share information with service providers who provide us with development, storage, marketing, analytics, payment processing and promotional services. We require our service providers and our affiliates to keep your personal information secure;

  • if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, we may transfer your personal information as part of that transaction;

  • aggregated demographic or otherwise non-personal information may be shared with our partners and advertisers, such as usage statistics of the Service; and

  • we may share your information with your consent or for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.

We may also share information about you if necessary for us:

  • to enforce or apply our Terms, Policies and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes;

  • to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, in accordance with applicable law;

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of AIT, our Faculty, Students or others.

4. How you change your information

If you have an account, you may review and change personal information which you provided to us by logging into your account and modifying the personal information stored in connection with your account. If you do not have an account or for other questions about our privacy practices, you may contact us using the email address below.  

5. Links to Third-Party Sites and Social Networks

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, including social networks. These links are provided for your convenience.  We have no control over and are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Service and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personal information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by this Service.

6. Storage Outside of Canada

Your personal information may be stored by us or our service providers outside of Canada.  If your personal information is used or stored outside of Canada, it will also be subject to the laws of the country in which it is used or stored.

7. How we Protect your Information 

We will take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Reasonable steps include measures appropriate to the level of sensitivity of the personal information. However, no method of electronic transmission or service is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss or breaches of our security systems will never occur. Accordingly, you should not transmit personal information to us using our Service if you consider that information to be sensitive.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes to our Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the updated Privacy Policy and revising the “Last Updated” date above.   We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to stay informed about our privacy practices.  By continuing to use the Service after the changes are made, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
